This way of applying a contour of eyes makes it possible to fight effectively against the wrinkles of expression and tired eyes.
And if we applied our eye contour in the wrong way? Carole Colombani, a professional make-up artist, who backstage Fashion Weeks and the biggest fashion shootings, provides essential insights into this gesture. Guided by her years of experience with models and perfumes, but also nourished by her personal experience, the expert has given herself the challenge of posting video tips and tricks every day for a month. From make-up to care, she talks about beauty as a whole on her Instagram account and her YouTube channel “Make Up is Freedom by Carole Colombani”. In one of her videos, she returns to how to take care of her eyes. Contrary to popular belief, eye contour care does not extend directly to the lower and upper mobile eyelids. On the contrary, these areas should not be affected. Carole Colombani explains: “It is always applied to the bone that surrounds the eye socket … and especially not over the eyelid.” The reason? “The skin is super fine, it will directly load, the assets will pass too quickly and too deeply and this can cause reactions.” Moreover, Carole Colombani prolongs the application of care between the two eyebrows to fight against the lion’s wrinkle.
A gesture for oneself
Before any application of an eye contour, Carole Colombani begins by preparing her skin with a veil of hydrosol or a moisturizing elixir. As for the number of cosmetics, the make-up artist is adamant: “The equivalent of one grain of rice for each eye” is sufficient. Care around the eyes becomes a moment of relaxation and well-being. From the pulp of the index finger and the thumb, she frames her eyes to smooth the skin in an outward movement. The idea? Lifter while activating the blood circulation. To optimize the effects, she advises two stones, guasha and shungite. The latter has, among other things, draining and absorption properties in relation to the brightness and the waves of the screens. On the caring side, the expert recommends oils textures, for the added comfort, but also the reduction of cutaneous reactions. This is enough to overcome tired eyes and marks of age.
