The week is finally over and you’re getting ready to go out to dinner. Quickly, you don’t have a second to lose: you run to your bathroom, to put on your freshly acquired satin dress. Thank you! When you put on your sandals, you realize that your last hair removal was indefinitely…and you forgot to buy more wax. Never mind, Lucette, your online beauty advisor, shows you how to make yours in a flash. To your pots and pans!
Beauty recipe: my homemade wax with sugar, honey and lemon
As with caramel, mix 2 glasses of powdered sugar and ½ glasses of water in a saucepan.Heat over high heat while stirring with a wooden spoon.
When the mixture begins to simmer, add the juice of half a lemon. This helps to limit the crystallization of the caramel. In addition, the antiseptic properties of this citrus fruit prevent the appearance of comedones and ingrown hairs. Stir more beautiful!
Stop cooking as soon as the sugar starts to yellow. Then stir in 2 tablespoons of honey. It will make your legs all soft! Even if your wrist starts to turn, always mix. Wait a few minutes, while the preparation cools. But don’t stop playing with your spoon!
Once warm, take a hazelnut of wax with your eternal wooden spoon. Wet your fingers, then use them to stretch and shape the wax, until it becomes cloudy, becoming almost white.
Then spread the wax on your skin with your fingers following the growth of the hair. Smooth it, then remove it with a dry stroke in the opposite direction. Great, you have just enough time to apply a restorative treatment, like René Furterer’s 5-way dry sublimating oil, on your legs! And here you are with legs even more satiny and soft than your new silk dress!
