Your hairdresser is the maestro of blow-drying and you dream of being able to reproduce his masterpiece? With the good advice of Emma Guerri, Director of Saint Algue training, anything is possible.
Prepare the terrain
Curly, flexible or stiff … the blow-dry is suitable for all hair. Everything is played in the way. Start by shampooing and caring with products that are suitable for your hair. If they are fine, make sure that the shampoo is not too heavy. Apply the care on the lengths and especially not in root. Finally, take the time to rinse the hair.
If you have thick hair, you can start blow drying immediately. Otherwise, it is better to pre-dry at a low speed with a hair dryer in order to remove a maximum amount of moisture. Focus on the roots and avoid brushing the lengths and ends to avoid making the hair electric.
Have the right material
The secret of a good brushing lies in the choice of the brush. Just like care, it must be adapted to your hair nature. Choose it always round in order to be able to wrap the locks around, the ideal being that it is in natural hair not to attack the fiber. Its size depends on the length of the hair: the longer the hair, the larger the diameter of the brush.
Proceed in stages
Begin by making separations at the top of the skull by delimiting a “front” area and a “back” area. Then wrap one wick at a time around the brush starting at the nape of the neck. You can use a crocodile clip to hold the front part of the hair while waiting. Be careful not to pick a wick too thin or too thick and never stick the tip of the hair dryer directly on the wick, the risk of burning it. Respect as much as possible the natural movement of your hair and ears, if you have any.
Earn in volume
Your hair is fine? Make upward movements with the brush from the root to take off. Conversely, if you have very thick or very curly hair, position the brush above the root instead to calm the volume. Finally, finish with a little hairspray. To avoid the cardboard effect and keep a natural hair, put on the hands and scrunch the lengths to fix the blow dry.
